Bill Ross Wins Emmy

Bill Ross, who masterfully led the orchestra behind Barbra Streisand during her recent concert tour, was honored with an Emmy award for his contribution to the televised special.

Bill Ross, who won the Outstanding Musical Direction Emmy this past Saturday for his work on "Streisand Live In Concert" was a part of today's E! Network broadcast of the awards.

Ross attended the ceremony with his daughter, Emma, who showed pure delight as her father made his way to the stage to accept his award. Ross' acceptance was heartfelt as he thanked Barbra:

"What can I say to you Barbra? You're a stunning transcendent artist for the ages. Thank you for letting me be a part of your world."

 
Bill Ross Wins Emmy for "Streisand Live In Concert"
(Sep 13) - The Creative Arts Emmys were handed out last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Bill Ross was awarded an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Musical Direction for his contribution to the broadcast of "Streisand Live In Concert." Ross won his Emmy in the only category in which the Streisand special was nominated.

In another category, "The Kennedy Center Honors," which recognized Barbra for her contribution to the arts, won an Emmy for "Best Variety Special."

E! Entertainment Television will broadcast the Creative Arts Emmys on Sep. 18. Check your local cable listings.
