Maureen Stapleton, who rounded out an all-star cast in the Barbra Streisand film, "Nuts," passed away on March 13, 2006.

(March 13, 2006) - Oscar and Emmy award winning actress Maureen Stapleton passed away on March 13 of natural causes. Stapleton appeared in over 35 motion pictures, including the Barbra Streisand film, "Nuts," where she gave an emotionally charged performance as the mother of Streisand's character, Claudia. Stapleton was nominated three times before winning her only Oscar, playing Emma Goldman in the 1981 film, "Reds." She was also a member of The Actors Studio. Maureen Stapleton was 80 and resided in New York.
